Overview

This article explains how to tag your own video content and organize important events into playlists using myDartfish in a browser. This allows you to focus only on the key moments — without having to rewatch the full match.

What You Can Do

  • Create your own video events, i.e. My Events, and add them to a playlist
  • Quickly replay only moments of interest
  • Access highlights directly via playlists — no need to watch the entire match
  • Create playlists that include events from one or multiple matches (e.g., for tactical prep)
  • View playlists online or in the myDartfish Express app
  • Share playlists with others
  • Download events for use in third-party tools

Requirements

  • Access right to the match video
  • A dartfish.tv account
  • A myDartfish Mobile Plus license (or higher)

Step-by-Step: Tag and Save an Event

    1. Load the video - Start by loading the match video you want to tag.

    2. Navigate to a key moment - Move the video to the position where the event begins.

    3. Create an event - Click “Add my event to a playlist” (Keyboard shortcut: b)

This will create a default 4-second event starting at the current video position.

    4. Adjust the event duration - refine the In-/Out-points of the event:

  • Use your mouse to adjust the markers.
  • Or use keyboard shortcuts:
    • i                 → go to the In-point
    • Shift + i    → set a new In-point
    • o                → go to the Out-point
    • Shift + o → set the new Out-point

Power User Tip: Tag Faster and More Precisely

Speed up your tagging workflow with these expert shortcuts:

1. Drag to reposition the entire event
Use the white handler in the timeline to move the entire event so that the In-point aligns with the start of the action. Then just adjust the Out-point to set the desired duration.
2. Use the spacebar to resume playback after setting the Out-point
Once the playhead reaches your intended Out-point, press the spacebar (PC) or tap play to keep watching from that moment. This helps you accurately decide when the action truly ends.
3. Scrub quickly using keyboard shortcuts
Use Ctrl + Shift + ←/→ (or “j” / “l”) to move quickly through the video — ideal when you're fine-tuning In/Out points or scanning for the next event.

    5. Edit event metadata - You can edit:

  • Label (required)
  • Description (optional): Use it to add context, notes, or shareable insights
Power User Tip: Fast Form Navigation

When filling out event metadata (like label or description), use the Tab key to jump to the next field and Shift + Tab to go back. No need to reach for the mouse.

     6. Choose playlist destination - Select one or more playlists where the event will be saved.

  • If none of the existing playlists are suitable, you can create a new one by simply by clicking the button “New playlist” and typing a new playlist name in the field.
  • As you begin typing, the app will automatically filter the existing playlists to show any matching names. This helps you avoid duplicates and spot playlists you may have forgotten — especially useful when dealing with a long list.

Note: The selected playlists will stay active for the rest of the session.

    7. Save the event - Click “Save” to finalize and add the event to the selected playlist(s).
