Purpose and scope

Supported playlists and license requirements

  • All playlists from dartfish.tv — manual, smart, and collaborative — can be opened and played in myDartfish Express.
  • A myDartfish Mobilelicense is sufficient to:
    • Access the app and view playlists.
    • Open playlists shared with you.
    • View videos, events, and comments.
    • Add, edit, or delete your own comments.
    • Download individual events for offline viewing.
Note: Creating and managing playlists can only be done on dartfish.tv. These playlists are then automatically available in myDartfish Express for viewing, commenting, and downloading.

Viewing events and available options

To access your playlists in myDartfish Express, tap the hamburger menu (☰) in the top-left corner of the app. From the menu, select Playlists — this opens the Playlists page, similar in structure to the one available on dartfish.tv.

All administration features, such as playlist creation, sharing, collaboration, or deletion, are performed on dartfish.tv. In myDartfish Express, the focus is on consumption — viewing, playing, and commenting on available playlists.

On the Playlists page, you can:

  • Use the search box to quickly find a playlist by name.
  • Filter playlists by type — All, Manual playlists, or Smart playlists.
  • Sort playlists by:
    1. A–Z (alphabetical order)
    2. Z–A (reverse alphabetical order)
    3. Last Modified
    4. Most Recent

Once you open a playlist, the app displays the video of the first event in that playlist.

You can then:

  • Play all events in order, just as you would on dartfish.tv.
  • Expand any event to view its description and the three action buttons:
    1. Keywords — to display all tags assigned to the sequence.
    2. Comments — to read or add comments (depending on your license).
    3. Download — to download the selected event to your device or to a cloud collection.

This layout mirrors the viewing experience on dartfish.tv, providing a consistent and intuitive workflow between the web and mobile platforms.

Viewing and interacting with comments

In manual and collaborative playlists, you can view and manage comments directly in the app.

When you open the Comments view:

  • Read all comments added by other collaborators.
  • Refresh the thread to display the latest updates.
  • Add a new comment.
  • Edit or delete your own latest comment if you need to make a correction.

Notes:
- Only the most recent comment you have written can be edited. Older comments remain read-only.
- Playlists and their content (events, comments, keywords) are automatically synchronized between dartfish.tv and myDartfish Express.
When working collaboratively, it is recommended to refresh the playlist or comment thread before adding new comments to ensure you see the latest updates from other users

Downloading an event from a playlist

From any playlist opened in myDartfish Express, you can download individual events for offline viewing or analysis (download rights required for the source video)

To download an event:

  1. Tap the event to expand it.
  2. Tap the Download button.
  3. The event is extracted from its source video and saved to your device’s local storage or to your myDartfish Smart Cloud.
Tip: Downloaded events are saved as short video clips that you can replay, analyze, or share directly from your device.

Using the Analysis Recorder with playlists

The Analysis Recorder lets you record your own analysis sessions directly from a playlist in myDartfish Express. This tool allows you to add a voice-over and use drawing tools to visually illustrate your commentary while reviewing events.

You can load any playlist and start an analysis recording without downloading it first — the events are streamed in real time from the cloud.

Once the recording starts:

  • You can navigate freely through the events in the playlist.
  • Add your voice-over comments as the video plays.
  • Use the drawing tools to highlight areas or movements on the screen.

The drawings and annotations are not saved in the original playlist; they are purely illustrative and will appear only in the resulting video.

When you stop the recording, myDartfish Express automatically generates a single continuous video containing everything that occurred on screen during the analysis session — including pauses, fast forwards, drawings, and your voice-over.

Tip: Use the Analysis Recorder to create narrated reviews or training sessions that combine video playback, on-screen drawings, and your commentary — ideal for remote feedback or self-assessment
