This article explains how to manage, organize, and share your playlists on dartfish.tv. It covers how to access your playlists from the left menu, use filters and sorting tools, edit details, and perform actions such as sharing or deleting playlists. It also explains how to download individual events for offline use. These playlist management features are available to all users with a dartfish.tv account and provide the foundation for more advanced options such as collaboration and publishing.

Purpose and scope

Learn how to view, organize, and share your playlists on dartfish.tv. This includes accessing playlists from the menu, managing details and content, and sharing or downloading them for review and analysis.

Access your playlists

You can access and manage all your playlists from the Playlists entry in the left menu.

There are two ways to access your playlists:

  • Quick access: Expand the Playlists entry in the left menu to view your most recent playlists without opening the dedicated page.
  • Full management: Click Playlists in the left menu to open the Playlists page, where all your playlists are listed.

From the Playlists page

The Playlists page provides an overview of all your playlists and allows you to create, organize, or manage them.

At the top of the page, you can:

  • Click Create playlist to add a new manual playlist.
  • Sort your playlists using the Sort bymenu:
    • Last modified (newest first)
    • Oldest modified
    • A–Z (alphabetical order)
    • Z–A (reverse alphabetical order)

You can also filter which playlists are displayed:

  • All – shows both manual and smart playlists.
  • Playlists – shows only manual playlists.
  • Smart playlists – shows only smart playlists.

Collaborative playlists are identified by a collaboration icon:

  • one icon appears on the thumbnail,
  • and another appears on the right-hand side of the playlist item.

When you hover over a playlist, several quick actions become available across the entire item row:

  • Open the playlist — click anywhere on the playlist item (not just the thumbnail).
  • Share the playlist (share icon).
  • Delete the playlist (trash icon).
  • More options (vertical ellipsis ⋮) — opens a contextual menu.

The More options menu includes the two following additional options:

  • Edit details – change the name or description.
  • Collaborate – available for manual playlists only (requires a myDartfish Mobile Plus license or higher).

Note: Smart playlists have the same quick actions, but collaboration is not available.

Inside a playlist

Once a playlist is open, you can view its events and perform additional actions depending on the playlist type.

You can perform the same general actions as from the playlists page:

  • Edit details – change the name or description.
  • Share – get a sharing link.
  • Delete – remove the playlist.
  • Collaborate - For manual playlists only (requires a myDartfish MobilePlus license or higher).
  • Publish – available for users with publishing rights and a myDartfish MobilePlus license or higher.

You can interact with the events in the playlist:

  • Play an event by simply clicking on it in the list.
  • Search for an event in the list using the search box.
  • Open in video – loads the source video at the position of the event. This is especially useful if you want to continue tagging the video and complete the playlist.
  • Add event to another playlist.
  • Download the event.
  • Comment on the event.
  • Edit the label and description of the event (keyboard shortcut [e]).
  • Activate Edit mode using the toggle on the right.
    • Once enabled, you can reorder events by drag and drop.
    • You can also remove events from the playlist.

Share a playlist (non-collaborative)

You can share any playlist with other users using a direct link. This allows recipients to view your playlist and, if they wish, save a copy of it to their own playlist library.

Important: The shared playlist is independent from your original. Any changes made by the recipient will not affect your playlist — and vice versa. If you need shared editing and live updates, use the collaboration feature instead.

When someone opens your shared link:

  1. They must be logged in to their dartfish.tv account.
  2. They will only see playlist items linked to videos for which they already have viewing rights.
    • Events from videos they cannot access will still appear in the list but will be grayed out.
  3. They can Save the playlist to their personal playlists for future access or modification.

Download events from a playlist

You can download video events directly from any playlist to use them offline or in third-party tools.

Download a single event

  • On the playlist item, click the ellipsis (⋯) on the right.
  • From the menu that appears, select Download.

Requirements for single download

  • A valid dartfish.tv account
