In-The-Action is a mode of the Dartfish Live experience that streamlines the use of video during trainings or exercices where getting instant video feedback is key. This mode is available in the licenses myDartfish Live, Pro and Pro S. It offers several advantages to the user:
- One touch recording and replay
- Remote control of capture and replay
- use of pre-roll settings to allow capture even after the action has begun or even completed
- Simultaneous capture from up to 4 devices (myDartfish Pro and Pro S license required
Process
In-The-Action follows a linear process
- Start recording a training session
- Choose between the live and live delay video mode.
- As soon as an action happens, record the event
- The event is then automatically played in loop
- Decide to save the event by pressing on one of the 4 buttons with the save disk icon. The event is then saved as a single video clip on your drive
- Or ignore the event and go back to the live
- At the end of the session, a montage is automatically created and includes all the saved events
Setting up In-The-Action
- Open the Live workspace on the top right (with Pro S, you additionally need to toggle the In-The-Action button at the top left)
- The workspace is separated in two main parts. The video player on the left and the In-The-Action control panel on the right.
- The video player displays the live view from the camera
- The control panel is used to capture, play and save clips
- To select a camera as video source, click on Source
- Select the camera and close the window to go back to In-The-Action
Some types of cameras or converters require specific drivers or installation setup before they appear in that list. Check this document if your camera is not visible
You will now see the image from the camera in the player. What is left is to set the control panel

- Event settings: set the duration of the event to record (from fixed to variable) and define the pre-roll time, i.e. the duration to include in the event before the button is pressed
- Event title: recorded events can be saved using 4 different buttons. Each button will save the event under a specific name in order to qualify the clip, for instance using figure, exercise or athlete names
